Project Description

Kehinde Wiley: An Economy of Grace is a short documentary following the painter, who would later create Barack Obama's presidential portrait, as he takes on his first series of portraits of Black women. Wiley street-casts his models on the sidewalks of New York and dresses them in couture gowns by Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci, tracing the work from concept to canvas.

Provided motion graphics to demonstrate the artist's process and the scale and scope of his work.

Produced for Show of Force.
